Effective chairing skills are vital to effective scrutiny – thus allowing your authority to properly investigate council and partner performance, and chart a path for the local public sector through the recession. With budgets being cut back, members need to use their skills both as chairs and committee members forensically (to analyse current performance and expenditure) and strategically (to see how decisions being made now will have an impact on public services in the years to come).
Enjoy a lively, interactive and entertaining training session with former Councillor and professional trainer David McGrath aimed at developing your skills in the management of meetings.
David says: ‘Delegates will enjoy practicing some of the key skills involved in managing meetings and will get feedback and advice to take their skills and personal effectiveness to the next level.
