The 10th CfPS Annual Conference takes place during a significant period of reform in public policy and ongoing financial challenge. The Localism Act has implications for relationships between councils and citizens and the reduction of centralised regulation, coupled with changes to policing and health services, leaves many non-executives uncertain about their role. Powerful, Accountable, Local will help you navigate through uncharted territory and provide clear direction about how best to ensure effective accountability with reduced resources.
The Scrutiny Camp aimed at Scrutiny Officers and Managers will take the ‘un-conference’ format, where delegates (with facilitation) will select their own topics, set their own agenda and work collaboratively through peer to peer learning sessions. For more information about the un-conference format please see this guide.
The Member Scrutiny Academy provides a full day of practical advice to help tackle some of the most pressing issues facing non-executive scrutiny councillors. Through in-depth seminar sessions, expert presenters and collaborative learning, delegates will leave better informed and better equipped to meet the current challenges which face scrutiny in local government.
