CfPS Expert Adviser Team
As well as being able to directly provide support to any public sector organisation looking for help in bolstering their accountability, transparency and governance mechanisms, we can offer this support through our Expert Adviser Team.
Our advisers are a wide range of current and former scrutiny practitioners and other experts, who offer a significant benefit over other consultants in that they have direct experience of scrutiny in a range of different authorities and bodies.
Many of our advisers have formal training and development qualifications, and all are supported by CfPS in terms of knowledge of current notable practice, national developments and legislation.
What others say
Our advisers have been working with us for a number of years, in which time we have significantly expanded the programme and received plaudits from a string of extremely satisfied clients, of which these are a small selection.
“Your speed, flexibility and quality was outstanding”
“[The adviser] provided an excellent half day session both explaining the new legislative requirements as well as facilitating discussion with our Chairs, helping to identify key themes, issues and next steps. The Chairs were unanimous in their positive feedback for his effectiveness, presentation style and pace of delivery”.
“Dealt with many aspects of scrutiny that I had not previously thought of. Good approach, good facilitating – open-minded and responsive.”
What we can provide
Advisers can assist with any project or area of development, big or small. CfPS staff and your selected adviser will work with you to put together a bespoke plan to tackle your specific needs. However, we do also offer particular seminars on common areas of interest including questioning and chairing skills. Full details can be found in our prospectus.
Prices for all our work is subject to your precise requirements. In most cases, the size and flexibility of the Expert Adviser Team means that we are able to offer our services for less than other providers.
CfPS encourages and welcomes authorities or organisations who wish to do joint work to spread the cost of instructing an adviser, and we are keen to facilitate this wherever possible.
