Scrutiny Champions' Network

If we are to realise the potential of good public scrutiny, it is essential that there are people within our democratic institutions who are able to act as ambassadors for the cause.

To achieve this, CfPS has established the Scrutiny Champions' Network. We will facilitate this group, providing regular information on public scrutiny, including tools for its use and support for its implementation.

The network supports and encourages all those involved in public scrutiny to become advocates for the role within their own organistions. Several groups exist already to help share lessons about scrutiny between organisations. We will work with these groups to develop a case for scrutiny that Champions can use to enhance understanding of what scrutiny means, why it matters and how we can get it right. We would like to invite one elected member and one senior officer from your organisation to join.
