Using digital to enhance scrutiny

March 14, 2018 @ 10:00 am

Everyone working in Local Government understands that technology has huge potential to improve communication and engagement with residents.

Whereas previously it was feared the digital world would create barriers, it is increasingly recognised that it provides opportunities to bring people together locally. However, understanding how local authorities and, especially scrutiny, can use these tools to engage, interact and listen to local people is a nut which few councils have cracked. As more people are online, connected through social networks, and using smartphones this one day course will look at examples where councils have got it right, explore how these models can be applied successfully to scrutiny and used to increase participation in democracy as well as raising the profile of scrutiny locally.

Places cost £195 + VAT per person for Local Authority delegates and £225 + VAT per person for commercial sector delegates.

Buy 3 get 1 free – In recognition that authorities may benefit from sending multiple delegates to the same training event. This discount is applied automatically at check-out.

Full programme and timings to follow shortly.
