RE: Websites - Julian Hehir - 02-02-2010 01:20 PM Dave, At Oxfordshire County Council we used to have several dedicated pages about scrutiny on the Council's website. We produced a handbook/guide and a series of papers to help council officers, external agencies and the community at large through the process. About this time last year I started to review the website material with a view to improving it in terms of public engagement , so I researched what other authorities were doing. A half-baked review was completed in August. However, nowadays the scrutiny function has been absorbed within other policy, review and performance management work and is led by services within the authority rather than by a dedicated scrutiny function. There is now a shorter scrutiny page on the website, but if you wish, I can send you the pages from 2005/06 and some of the research around other authorities' websites. Julian. T.
