Consultation Calendar
Not unlike most scrutiny staff across the country, I suspect, the planning for next years's O&S Work Programme is already begining to fascinate us here at Wyre.

We always find that Consultations seem to rear their heads when we least expect them so my 'Grand Plan' this year is to try to predict them and to include them in our Work Programme from the start.

Is anyone aware of any important consultations that are likely to entertain scrutiny members in the coming months (or year), please?

Thanks for any suggestions / inside information.

Apologies - should have been clearer. Yes, NATIONAL consultations primarily (unless there are any others on a regional level of which I am equally unaware!). Thanks.

RE: Consultation Calendar
Your best bet is to look at the Structural Reform Plan and Departmental Business Plans of the main Government departments, and also their respective delegated legislation plans (where they have them).

This will give you a very rough idea but timescales can of course slip. Signing up to a service like "info4local" will also give you notification of these sorts of things as and when they happen, but not in such a way that you can plan for.

It is also worth keeping one eye out for Select Committee investigations, but calls for evidence occur on a seemingly random basis unless there is a digest to which you can sign up.
