RE: "Successful scrutiny"
Nathaniel,

I could give you a number of examples of successful projects completed by the Tameside Scrutiny Panels and sccepted with great outcomes by the Executive, but I will give you three:

(a) A review of Children's Play that completely changed the Council's policies and attitude to children's play and resulted in a halt to the reduction in children's play areas, an investment of over £450k in play areas and a successful bid to central government of £1.2M for new and refurbished play areas.

(b) Total refurbishment of cemetery footpaths with new investment of over 400k.

© An additional £1.2M over 3 years of new money for highway maintenance following the acceptance of a scrutiny follow up report.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you would like further details.

Howard
