Appreciative (scrutiny) Inquiry
Hi colleagues

The next London Scrutiny Network will be looking at this methodology and we're looking for some scrutineers with experience of it, so...

1. Have you got any experience of using Appreciative Inquiry as part of a scrutiny inquiry?
2. Are you free on 3rd October?
3. Are you able to travel to London?
4. Are you willing to share your experience with London scrutiny colleagues?

If you've been able to answer yes to all of the questions above we'd love to hear from you (tpbarrett@lambeth.gov.uk).

If you've answered no to any of questions 2-4 but yes to question 1 please feel free to post your experiences/advice here or alternatively email me directly.

All the best

Tom

RE: Appreciative (scrutiny) Inquiry
Hi Tom

As you know I am sorry that I cannot attend your event to talk about our recent publication Appreciative Scrutiny, however you should be able to pull what you want out of the publication – there are useful case studies and a guide to using it. Did you ask Mike Cooper CfPS Regional Advocate to cover it?

RE: Appreciative (scrutiny) Inquiry
Sorry for coming so late to this but I knew I remembered an example being used in Scrutiny somewhere. It was Stockport, 2006, and is in the CfPS Library

Hi Tom, example of report attached and also some background research notes on using this method of research. I did this work a long time ago, and I found it did require a big shift in mind set as so much of scutiny work is based on highlighting things that are not working rather than building on the success of current work.

Regards
