Task and Finish
Hi All,

Where recommnedations have been made by a Task and Finish Group and agreed by Executive Members. Has anyone had any problems where a new adminsitration comes in and disagrees with previous work and wants additional work to be undertaken? How did you deal with this?

Drop me an e-mail for specifics if this doesnt make sense!

RE: Task and Finish
haven't lived through that particular scenario but I think it's an interesting one - it's always better to have exec interest in the scrutiny work than have it just sink quietly into that place where they are never heard of again!

My response would be to ask the executive for written direction on what additional work they want - ie try to test whether it's genuinely more than just political grumpiness - and then your OSC can have the debate and see where they want to go with it. It could be legitimate for scrutiny to change tack if it relates to a very live issue where the context has changed dramatically.
