RE: Scrutiny of the Community Strategy
I'd be quite interested in this too. In the past we have thought that the Comms Strat was too "big" to scrutinise. Is it? Could we look at whether its been delivered? Could we look at key issues/themes/projects within it? How would we choose them??

RE: Scrutiny of the Community Strategy
In Hackney our Overview and Scrutiny Board (the overarching committee) is working through the Sustainable Community Strategy, bit by bit, this year as a way of providing accountability for partnership working.

Our Strategy has six priorities for the borough, and the Board will hold a "partnership question time" for each at a single meeting. The intention is to invite relevant officers and partners along to discuss how a particular priority is being met and how they are doing it together. So for the priority on reducing unemployment, we'll invite the relevant directorate, Job centre plus, the community college, etc..

The Board also held a session on the Strategy itself when it was prepared last year.

Happy to provide more information on the approach if you're interested.

Gareth
