RE: Vice Chairs
We do! They attend the Scrutiny Coordinating Committee meetings (all chairs and vice-chairs) and sub for the chair at meetings if necessary, but they aren't paid.

Our answer would be the same as Maidstone's.

RE: Vice Chairs
Tameside has Deputy Chairs (same thing) for its Scrutiny Panels (O&S Cttees) and two of the four are from the main opposition party.

There role is, as the title applies, to deputise for the Chairs both at meetings and whenever required for other purposes and very useful they are to sharing some of the leadership role for the panels with the Chairs

RE: Vice Chairs
We do as well. We have two Vice Chairs for the Overview and Scrutiny Committee (our overarching Committee) and we also have two Vice Chairs for our Health and Adult Social Care Select Committee - one with responsibilty for Health and the other Adult Social Care. The rest of our Committees have one Vice Chair each.

RE: Vice Chairs
Hi Neil

We do, we have deputy chairman for all our scrutiny committees and at present all receive a special responsibility allowance.
