The end for scrutiny?

RE: The end for scrutiny?
The Health White paper published today proposes to replace the statutory functions of health overview and scrutiny committees - they will not have a role in scrutinising GPs or acute trusts.

Local authorities will get a new role to promote the co-ordination of commissioning, social care and health improvement. Presumably, councillors can use continue to use their internal scrutiny arrangements to scrutinise how that role is carried out.

RE: The end for scrutiny?
Thanks Ed - a colleague had already raised the Health White paper in this thread and I was posting a response

I suggest we now move all comments on health and health scrutiny to the relevant thread on the white paper elsewhere in the Fourm
