a) have one/some of these for their Overview and Scrutiny service (policies and procedures, etc)
b) incorporate these into their reviews/investigations, and/or final reports/recommendations?
Some examples would be really helpful, please........
a) not yet, scheduled for this year
b) all new and revised policies or strategies, and any service developments considered by Scrutiny must be accompanied by an EIA.
At Harborough District Council the corporate equality work sits with the same Democratic Officer as the scrutiny work - ME!
We feel that the model where the equality function sits within HR is somewhat outdated these days and that by embedding equality in the democratic decision making process we can ensure that EIAs deliver the kind of real outcomes for the community that CAA will be looking for.
