Somerset has one for the team that services both OSC and Executive etc and so OSC is covered by it. I left that team partway through the write-up of it so can't say too much about what it does or does not contain, although I think the emphasis was on using accessable venues for meetings.

Hi Alix, in Nottinghamshire Equality Impact Assessments relevant to a review are identified and requested as part of the scoping process. Where the assessment contains issues relevant to the review they are included. If no assessments exist then the review might also challenge this or request that one be carried out and reported to Members. Matt

I have just completed one of these for the scrutiny function as a whole - we don't tend to do them for individual reviews at the time of the review but each review we have completed in the last 12 months was covered in the annual update. Happy to send you a copy if you like.

b) all new and revised policies or strategies, and any service developments considered by Scrutiny must be accompanied by an EIA.

At Harborough District Council the corporate equality work sits with the same Democratic Officer as the scrutiny work - ME!

We feel that the model where the equality function sits within HR is somewhat outdated these days and that by embedding equality in the democratic decision making process we can ensure that EIAs deliver the kind of real outcomes for the community that CAA will be looking for.

We carry out EIAs just after the scoping exercise for all of our O&S Reviews, updating them along the way as appropriate. Brief details are also included in the final reports.
