Earl - can you clarify exactly what you mean by 'publicising youth activities?' In Blackpool we have not long finished a review of Blackpool Youth Services which may assist in some elements depending on what you are specifically interested in?

Hi Laura, thanks for replying. The focus of the review is exploring ways to improve the advertisement and publicity of young people in Wolverhampton. The issue was raised by membes of the Youth Council who wanted more work done to keep young people informed about activities provided by the Council and the voluntary sector.

At this stage there is no evidence that this is a issue for young people, but I wanted to start to get evidence together about the work being done by other local authorities, who have had success in publicising and promoting services and leisure activities to young people. I will be using the information to draft a scoping document for a meeting in January.

I would be interested in having a look at the results of your review, particularly if this has been highlighted as an issue by young people in Blackpool.

Promotion ofy outh activities was one of the things which the Members did consider.

Blackpool Youth Services have an excellent website www.rubothered.co.uk which the review did receive statistics on and feedback from young people regarding the content and its operation. It links things to do and places to go (from the LA / Leisure / Community and voluntary groups) together in one place.
