RE: The use of social media in scrutiny work
Hi Baseema,
We produced a piece of research called "Cannot find server" on this subject about eight months ago which can be found elsewhere on the website - it's a delicate issue really, and while a lot of local government types are evangelists for using social media in any and all circumstances, we I think take a slightly more cautious approach. Dave McKenna posts on these boards frequently - he is the Scrutiny Mgr at Swansea and has done some thinking on these kinds of issues. Also a chap called Dave Briggs who works for an organisation called Learning Pool has done some work with us in the past - social media and use of new technologies to engage people is his speciality and he now has a good working knowledge of scrutiny too, so I'm sure he'd be able to help. RE: The use of social media in scrutiny work
Many thanks Ed
Shortly after posting I came across the cfps publication mentioned and also Swansea as an example of good practice. I will be looking into these further. |

RE: The use of social media in scrutiny work
For what it is worth here is a presentation on this very topic.
It was discussed as part of an online conference on the communities of practice site here. You will need to register / join if you are not signed up already. |
