Thanks for the kind words, Alix.

Plans: I write articles and the occasional book on air warfare and I want to do more. I've got over 15000 pages of wartime intelligence documents (which I'm weird enough to find interesting!) copied on my laptop, so I've got something to be getting on with.

And if I ever miss local governement, there's always the box set of "The Sopranos."

Sorry to hear you're going Nick - mind you, the book sounds interesting!

I echo the comments made above about this being a sad loss to the scrutiny function - we need as many people as possible with the long term, practical experience of scrutiny and its place in the authority rather than wet behind the ears know-it-alls like myself.

I would very much appreciate your comprehensive analysis of scrutiny both nationally and locally if you want to release any pent up rage.
