Scrutiny and social media - spreading the word?

RE: Scrutiny and social media - spreading the word?
Great stuff!

In terms of getting the message out more widely we are thinking about the same issue. Couple of suggestions here:
  • No harm in emailing people you know will be interested with a link to the specific page on the blog
  • Use your corporate internet front page if you can
  • Don't forget staff - we have found putting something on the staff intranet is a really good way of increasing awareness of the blog - the story could be about the conultation, the blog or both...
  • Your corporate consultation people may already have an email list they use for consultation - use that to send a link out if you can

Hope this helps!

Dave

Thanks Dave, some useful tips - especially using intranet to publicise to staff. Will let you know how it goes.

RE: Scrutiny and social media - spreading the word?
As luck would have it this issue was discussed at the Counties and Unitaries Scrutiny Network, which met on Friday and which I attended.

Rob Dale, from the LGiU, gave a presentation which can be found here - http://robandale.tumblr.com/post/6720442...e-scrutiny
I also went to Localgovcamp on Saturday in Birmingham where, as you can imagine, social media issues were discussed in some detail. I'm planning to post about that separately in a moment.
