Engagement with CCG's
Hi all,
I'm looking for a little inspiration in order to set up an engagement event with our HOSC and the CCG. Clearly, working with the HOSC at this stage is benefitial for the CCG as it will support their accreditation but i'm thinking about the longer term; especially in relation to developing mutual respect for each others' roles and responsibilities. I'm thinking about organising a roundtable event where the HOSC showcases it's work over the last few years to the CCG to stimulate discussion around commissioning and outcomes for residents. This would be in addition to the CCG presenting its vision for Trafford. Anyone else got any suggestions as to how to organise such an event? Look forward to hearing from as many of you as possible. Helen

RE: Engagement with CCG's
Hi Helen,
In terms of what you propose, I think the Health and Well-being Board, whether Shadow or fully formed needs to be invovled as it should be the body which brings all partners together. It may also facilitate a useful discussion about how scrutiny will work with the Health and Well-being Board and avoid future issues of duplication etc too. Kind Regards Laura Latham |

RE: Engagement with CCG's
Hi Helen,
CfPS has facilitated a number of these events and published some of its work in our publication "exploiting opportunities". A stakeholder event was seen as a very good in fact necessary step in building effective relationships and understanding. Give me a call about specific. Su Turner 07795 294052 |

RE: Engagement with CCG's
Inviting other organisations could prove useful. We found CCG's and other organisations valued our Health Scrutiny Stakeholder day as it provided a much needed networking opportunity in an in-partial space. People were taking to people they simply wouldn't have spoken to in the short term with some positive ideas being shared for example the Fire Service reps had some great ideas on how they could assist in falls prevention that CCG leads were really interested in. I think organisations could see that Scrutiny can be a useful asset to them which fingers crossed will be helpful in securing ongoing collaboration going forward. Happy to chat through how we did stuff if you want to get in touch.

RE: Engagement with CCG's
Hi Helen,
We had a 'get to know you' informal seminar for HOSC and CCGs a few months back. We gave a brief overview of HOSC's role/recent work and each CCG GP lead presented their progress in setting themselves up and their plans and priorities for services. It was a really useful session for people to get to know each other outside the glare of a public HOSC meeting. We tried to keep it informal, providing some lunch at the start so people could network before the main session. We've since needed to get CCG leads along to public HOSC meetings to comment on a controversial service reconfiguraton so it was great to have had the icebreaker first. |
