Local Authority scrutiny and PCPs
Has anyone begun work on developing a protocol for managing the relationship between the emerging Police and Crime Panels and the existing local authority scrutiny bodies, particularly those of upper tier authorities.?

RE: Local Authority scrutiny and PCPs
Yes - I'd recommend you look at Gloucestershire for the "gold standard", where the two are fully integrated.

Failing this, most Force areas are now putting their minds to this issue - you'll find an active thread on the subject on the "Police and Crime Panel Support Group" on the LGA Knowledge Hub.

We and the LGA are putting out guidance which will cover the issue this month.
