Since 2003 the Centre for Public Scrutiny has developed a strong reputation for sharing knowledge about how accountability works in public services. As a result we get lots of requests to provide training and consultancy. In the past we have usually had to decline these invitations and refer people on to other providers. That’s not because we can’t or don’t want to help but because, like many scrutiny teams, we’re a small outfit with limited time on our hands.
That seemed like a shame. It was a missed opportunity to put our knowledge to good use by working directly with individual organisations. We were also not taking advantage of the potential for the ‘scrutiny sector’ to learn from itself, by enabling experts in the field to help each other in this way.
So to fix this we’ve spent a year working with an initial group of 'CfPS Associates'. These are people who can deliver this work on our behalf and increase the likelihood of us saying "yes" to you. Each of the Associates have expertise and experience in scrutiny, training, facilitation and delivery. So far we’ve been very pleased with the results, as have many you who have worked with us:
"In the first half-hour I heard the most interesting, common sense remarks I’ve heard for a long time."

"Good facilitators – they listened and responded to input. Lots of useful information to use in the future – good practical help and advice.
