LINks and the Regulation of Health and Social Care
This event is one of a series of national and regional events exploring the new relationship between LINks, the Healthcare Commission and the Commission for Social Care Inspection. As the nature of public and patient involvement changes and LINks become established, one of their key relationships will be with the regulators of healthcare in England, the Healthcare Commission and the Commission for Social Care Inspection.
This free workshop will also give OSCs:
• a chance to hear feedback about commentaries on last years annual healthcheck
• a chance to consider what the Healthcare Commission ratings mean for the quality of care in the regions and how OSCs might respond
• a chance to consider how OSCs and LINks might work together around the 2008/09 annual healthcheck
The workshop will be highly interactive and is intended to support the new arrangements in 2008/9 relating to LINk hosts. You will receive a copy of the handbook prepared for LINk host organisations and work with others to identify how these arrangements can be successfully implemented. People attending the day will include:
• LINk host organisations
• LINk leads from local authorities
• OSC members
• Healthcare Commission staff including regional assessment staff
• Individuals from organisations involved in the roll-out and support of LINks including the Department of Health, the National Centre for Involvement and the Commission for Social Care Inspection
