In her role as volunteer researcher Jolanta is currently working with leaders of Sustainability and Transformation Plans, local politicians and stakeholders to support good governance and accountability during the implementation of STPs. She is producing a report on the role of governance and scrutiny within STPs, exploring themes such as:
Jolanta is in her final year of a PhD in the School of Social Science at the University of Manchester. Her research about the role of new providers of health care services in the NHS (Community Interest Companies) is funded by the ESRC and the President’s Doctoral Scholar Award (for outstanding students working on the most challenging societal topics). Prior to academia Jolanta had a successful career in local government working for the Third Sector and Policy Team at Manchester City Council. She has a background in community work having delivered capacity building and project management programmes across Manchester and in Wales.
