‘Walk a mile in my shoes: Scrutiny of dignity and respect for individuals in health and social care services’

This guide is intended to help local authority overview and scrutiny committees understand what dignity is, why it matters, and review whether dignity and respect are embedded in local services.
Care Services Minister Phil Hope said: "Recent scrutiny reviews led by local councillors have really helped put dignity high on the agenda for local health and social care services.
Tim Gilling Acting Director CfPS said 'Overview and scrutiny committees have a key role to play in capturing people's experiences and making the case for change. I hope this practical guide will help local councillors to review the extent to which dignity and respect are embedded in local services.'
