Guidance for the scrutiny of crime and disorder partnerships

Statutory guidance from the Home Office for the scrutiny of crime and disorder partnerships (drafted in partnership with CfPS and LGiU)

From 30 April, sections 19 and 21 of the Police and Justice Act came into force, providing local authorities with powers to scrutinise their community safety partners.

This guidance summarises and explains these new powers in the context of recently-published regulations.

Technically, this guidance applies to England only. The Welsh Assembly Government will be using its measure making powers to develop policies in due course.
