Overview of Marketing Birmingham

Birmingham’s attractions and strengths are promoted by a range of private and public sector organisations including "Marketing Birmingham"

The Regeneration O&S Committee (Birmingham) agreed in June 2009 to undertake an Overview of Marketing Birmingham, to see how the City Council could improve the impact and effectiveness of that organisation. 

Review of the Third Sector Commissioning Framework

The Cabinet asked the committee to evaluate the effectiveness of the authority's Third Sector Commissioning Framework following concerns about the role of Members in decision-making and concerns expressed by third sector organisations who had not been successful with their bids.

Torbay Priorities and Resources Review

The Report of the Priorities and Resources Review Panel provides details of the final stages of the Review of Priorities and Resources – a review which set out to look at what the Council’s priorities are for 2010/2011, how these correspond with the views of the community and what the impact of those priorities will be on the Council’s resources – its people, property and pounds.

The delivery of key enforcement priorities and better exploitation of new byelaw making facilities within Knowsley

The review identified four key areas of activity which would potentially benefit from greater regulatory control. These areas were; the control of scrambler bikes on public open spaces; the control of rogue traders; the control of the beauty therapy industry in relation to skin piercing, semi permanent make-up, provision of sunbeds and other specialist treatments; and the control of the sale of tobacco from vending machines.
