The Centre for Public Scrutiny promotes the value of scrutiny and accountability in modern and effective government and supports non-executives in their scrutiny role
Since 2004, we have developed a comprehensive set of guides and briefings about health scrutiny ranging from the fundamentals of accountability in health to practical guides about how to tackle specific issues. We have also published research about the development of the power of health scrutiny and learning from several innovative scrutiny reviews funded as part of our work.
This publication shares some of the lessons local councillors and council officers have learnt through projects supported by the CfPS Expert Advisory Team.
The Yorkshire and Humber Health Scrutiny Network has developed this invaluable resource, designed to introduce all councillors to key issues around health inequalities. The resource was developed with funding from the Centre for Public Scrutiny with additional funding from Minding the Gap.
The Centre for Public Scrutiny (CfPS) and The Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA) have published a new guide to written for officers and members involved in the Overview and Scrutiny process and for Independent Chairs of Safeguarding Adults Boards who may be requested to participate in the work of OSCs.
