The Centre for Public Scrutiny annual conference this year will focus on driving smarter scrutiny. With the publication of new government scrutiny guidance in May, many councils, councillors and officers are considering how they can improve the quality, effectiveness and impact of their scrutiny activities. In the context of continued political, financial and economic uncertainty, this conference is the ‘must attend’ annual gathering for officers and councillors involved in local government scrutiny. In addition, policy-makers and practitioners with scrutiny and governance responsibilities from inside and outside the sector would find it of vital importance.
We will bring together the highest calibre of national speakers and leading local practitioners, alongside a bespoke workshop offer intended to challenge your thinking and improve your practice.
The full programme will be launched in September.
