As local councils face unprecedented pressures, the role of scrutiny has never been so vital. Inevitably, scrutiny committees need to increase their contribution and value to their council effectiveness and scrutiny leaders need play a pivotal role.
Reflecting these demands, the Centre for Public Scrutiny (CfPS) have developed a new residential development opportunity and this is your personal invitation to attend.
It is designed exclusively for leading scrutiny members and officers in councils confronting significant or complex challenges, especially around financial, social care, economic regeneration, health and commercialisation.
Places are limited to allow delegates to learn and practice in small groups, coached and supported by a team of experts, including leading specialists in leadership, personal development, strategy and local government policy and your approach to overview and scrutiny.
A full programme of advanced level workshops, development sessions and coaching will reshape your thinking, equipping you to lead and improve scrutiny in your council.
Outline course content:
Centrally located at Highgate House Hotel and Conference Centre, Northamptonshire, with good road and rail access, the weekend runs from lunchtime on Friday 5th October to midday on Sunday day 7th October 2018.
This is fully an inclusive weekend school with two nights ensuite accommodation, meals, access to hotel facilities including a pool, and Saturday evening dinner with a special guest after dinner speaker.
The programme will be developed as delegates are confirmed to ensure it meets your needs and to give you time and space for networking and personal reflection, building on the learning and sharing your experiences and ideas.
